The Sacred Mayan Calendar contains weeks made up of 13 days, longer than the 7 day weeks in the Gregorian calendar. The 13 day week is called a "trecena", and the archetypal energy that lands on the first day of the trecena acts as the emotional drive throughout the rest of the week.
Today marks the trecena of E' (E-HK), which translates to the road, the path or the journey. This the archetypal energy, or "nawale", of exploration and discovery. E’ represents all paths, physical, emotional and spiritual. With the energy of E’ we can clearly see the twists and turns our own life path, as a whole or in parts. Where we’ve come from and where we’re going.
E’ is about forward motion, and direction. E’ points us towards our goals and reminds us of how far we’ve come, our growth and the potential that lies ahead. Today is a day to explore our inner path, or explore our physical world simply for the experience of it. Today is a day of discovery and examination, or travel. The energy of E’ can be restless, constantly seeking new experiences for the thrill and novelty of it, perhaps finding it boring or difficult to sit back and relax. E’ is a good day to get out onto the land, without any real plan or intention, just to see what you can discover - or to take a drive and be open to wherever the road takes you, and whatever insights or wisdom you discover along the way.
Since this is the first day of the new trecena, the energy of E' is available to us for the next 13 days. Let this trecena take you to new places, exploring your physical, emotional and spiritual realities. Allow yourself to be curious, to discover, to be open to new experiences and know that you are on a journey and that any given moment is merely a stop along the road.
